Practice gentle jaw stretching and relaxing exercises that may increase jaw movement
Pain medications – short-term use of pain medicines and/or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs may give some relief.
An oral appliance, sometimes called a bite guard is the most widely used treatment for TMJ. Studies of effectiveness in providing pain relief however, have been inconclusive.
